Raised in St. Louis, Missouri and “Born and Bred” in Cleveland, Ohio, I always had a fascination with all things beauty. From images of nature, stargazing late at night under the moonlight and Iconic Images such as Barbie. I first learned the skill of braiding very young and eventually grew into styling my own hair as a preteen. In high school I completed my High School’s Cosmetology course and received my State of Ohio issued license in Cosmetology. I practiced cosmetology for several years until I fell ill with Rheumatoid Arthritis which affected my work in that field. Still passionate about the beauty industry and making people feel beautiful, I always stayed up on the latest hair and makeup trends and gave helpful tips promoting healthy hair, skin and nails. Remaining an advocate for beauty and encouraged by several people to start a beauty business because of my history and knowledge in the beauty industry…. SHADES OF BEAUTY was born.
